Android app problem

Currently we are experiencing a problem with the Android version of the app. On opening an error message states that it is not possible to create the database.

The app can be made to work if you delete the user data. This option can be found in device Settings, usually under Apps.  In Apps find the Walkingworld app, then look for an option to delete the data.  This may be in a section called Storage.

You should then be able to sign into the app again and download a walk. However note that if you close down the app at all then the error message recurs. So if you are going for a walk using the app make sure you do not close the app down. Do be aware that the app sometimes closes itself, usually after a couple of hours.

A good backup would be to print out the walk and download a GPX file to load into another mapping application like OS Maps.

We have made the decision to retire the existing Android app and create a new one. This may take several weeks and we apologise for the inconvenience.
