Hidden Britain

Submit your 'Hidden Britain' feature for The Big Issue

We would like to hear about your favourite quirky feature to be found on a walk in our countryside or in one of our towns or cities. It could be a place that makes you smile, or gives you an insight into past lives, or throws a light on a particular subject. It needs to be on a Walkingworld walk but it doesn’t need to be one you have submitted yourself. If there is no Walkingworld walk already we can help you create one.

Please submit your feature below. We are looking for ideas to publish on a weekly basis in The Big Issue, a magazine with a circulation of around 100,000.

We can't guarantee that yours will appear immediately, or indeed at all, but the more information you can provide the better the chance. We need about 200 words for publication but don't worry about creating a perfectly crafted piece of writing - we can work from your notes. If you have a decent photo please upload it. Obviously we'll check with you first that you are happy for it to be used in the publication.

Please enter the Walkingworld ID number of the walk on which it appears, if you know it. You can only put in one ID but if the feature appears on two or more walks, do mention it in your notes. If you know the OS grid reference please put that in too.
